U.P. Chapter of ASI dates back in existence during the year 1978 and was the second in the country after Tamil Nadu Chapter which started in 1977. Prof. A. C. Das, Head of Department, Anatomy, KGMU who conceived the idea, prepared the constitution, organized the chapter and hosted its first conference in Lucknow, he is rightly called the “Father of the U.P. Chapter”.

The aim of UP-ASI is to enhance the knowledge of our anatomists in research, to unite all the anatomists across the states to share knowledge and to have professional development. During the past several years many conferences were conducted in various colleges of Uttar Pradesh. Many senior anatomists have contributed for the growth and development of UP-ASI and UPASICON.

In the beginning there were only 76 members, who has increased now to around 300 members and hope will keep on increasing. Long live UP-ASI.

United Institute of Medical Sciences is a renowned Medical College with 1000 beded multi speciality hospital under its own university – United University situated in Prayagraj, the heart of Uttar Pradesh.

UIMS was established in 2020 as the first private medical college in Prayagraj. Spread over ten lakhs square feet of lush green campus, It offers the state-of-the-art medical infrastructure for education and practice. It started its first batch in 2020 with the aim to provide this nation with a flow of competent doctors as a token of service to the country.

This year UIMS has got approval for its 4th batch of MBBS and P.G. seats in the department of Physiology and Pathology. Now our college is applying for P.G. seats in various clinical departments also.

Situated in Rawatpur near Jhalwa close to Prayagraj airport acts convenient in terms of transportation by all means whether its train, aeroplane or by road.

The department of Anatomy in United Institute of Medical Sciences is lead by Prof. Dr. Aditya Pratap Singh. Our department works with passion and diligence to ignite knowledge to our young students. Our team teaches the students with innovative teaching methods and involves following CBME curriculum which makes Anatomy more interesting. We actively involved in academic meetings, interdepartmental integration activities, cadaveric workshop in association with other departments, body donation program, model making activities for students, research and publishing various papers.

Prayagraj is one of the historic and mythological oldest cities of India with glorious past and present. It is a city of mixed culture of Hindu, Muslims, Jains and Christians. it is one of the largest city of Uttar Pradesh.

It is crowned in ancient scriptures as ‘Prayag’ or ‘Teertharaj’ and is considered the holiest of pilgrimage centres of India.

The city is situated at the confluence ( Sangam) of three rivers- Ganga, Yamuna and the invisible Saraswati. The meeting point is known as Triveni and is especially sacred to Hindus. Prayagraj is also famous of one of its kind Hanuman temple – “ Lete Hanuman Ji Temple”.

From the days of civilization Prayagraj has been a seat of learning, wisdom and writing. It is the most vibrant, politically conscious and spiritually awakened city of India.

Apart from its spiritual importance Prayagraj is also a hub of Administrative and Educational centre like High Court of Uttar Pradesh, UPSC, IIIT, etc.

This city narrates great sacrifice of freedom fighters like Chandrashekhar Azad after whom the largest public park in the district has been named.

Known for its hospitality this city has been hosting Prayag Kumbh mela,Maghmela, Indira marathon and other such cultural and sports events.
